I am a woodcarver who lives with my husband, John, who also carves with me in our reproduction black timber frame saltbox on farmland outside the village of Chelsea, Michigan. I have been carving since 1985, starting slowly, and in 1997 was featured in Country Home Magazine which really launched me into a fulltime business with my husband. We have been working constantly ever since, with dealers and customers in all parts of the US.
Here are some of the best sellers at the Spring open house - bunnies, chicks, eggs and carrots - what else at Easter? The primitive bunny from the postcard was the most popular, with the garden bunny a close second. The egg carts were a hit too! I used to struggle with Easter, but I feel better each year about my bunnies and eggs.
Thanks to everyone who came to my first spring open house! We were lucky that the weather cooperated enough that no one had to trudge through deep mud to get into the house. You
just never know what it is going to be like in March in Michigan. Easter items were the
big sellers. Bunnies, chicks, carrots and eggs! I guess I will continue this new tradition
next year!
