SPRING AND EASTER CARVINGS

Here are some of the best sellers at the Spring open house - bunnies, chicks, eggs and carrots - what else at Easter? The primitive bunny from the postcard was the most popular, with the garden bunny a close second. The egg carts were a hit too! I used to struggle with Easter, but I feel better each year about my bunnies and eggs.

FIRST SPRING OPEN HOUSE

Thanks to everyone who came to my first spring open house! We were lucky that the weather cooperated enough that no one had to trudge through deep mud to get into the house. You just never know what it is going to be like in March in Michigan. Easter items were the big sellers. Bunnies, chicks, carrots and eggs! I guess I will continue this new tradition next year!

FALL OPEN HOUSE

I want to thank everyone who attended my 2012 Fall Open House and made it a great success! More friends than ever came and bought my carvings. You all continue to amaze me with your continued support of my work. Thank you all so much!!! I have neglected my blog since the end of March (I can't believe it has been that long) and will try harder to keep it more current. Right now I am working on two large fall/Halloween orders for my dealers, with many small orders from the show and individuals. Any new carvings that I create, I will try to share with you. My problem is that I am always rushing to ship the order and don't have time to take any pictures. That should be one of my New Year's resolutions. Maybe I will try to start that one now. We'll see how it works.

BAYLOR BEAR CARVING

I carved a Baylor bear for my friend's sister's surprise birthday and was quite pleased with the results. And now I see that they are still alive and well in the Elite 8 NCAA basketball tournament. GO BEARS!!!!!

MORE NEW VALENTINE HEART PLAQUES

After designing the red paisley heart plaque and
getting lots of wonderful feedback (thanks, everyone!),
I have done a white heart with black paisley (and would
like to paint a black one too), a heart with "love" in
different languages, and a heart lollipop. They each
cost $25. I am still working on an antique version
of the paisley, and a really grungy one, but they are
taking a little longer.
